Game modes in Splitgate: Arena Reloaded are grouped into Arena (8-player), Onslaught (24-player), and Battle Royale (60-player), with modifiers and experimental rulesets available through playlists.
Core Gameplay Elements
Most modes in Splitgate: Arena Reloaded share common gameplay mechanics, with slight modifications based on the format:
- Loadouts - Players spawn with a primary and secondary weapon depending on the mode.
- Portals - Most modes allow portal usage for movement, flanking, and map control.
- Spawning - Respawn systems vary by mode: instant, delayed, or round-based.
- Radar - Standard radar is enabled in most modes, unless specifically disabled.
- Match Length - Arena and Onslaught games are usually short to medium-length, whereas Battle Royale is longer and survival-based.
Arena
Arena is the core 8-player format in Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, focused on fast-paced matches played on small, competitive maps. It features short respawn timers, aggressive movement, and portal-driven map control.

Onslaught
Onslaught modes are currently disabled and not available in public matchmaking.
Onslaught is a large-scale extension of Arena, supporting 24-player matches on bigger maps. The format emphasizes multi-team chaos, wide flanks, and more open combat spaces.
List of Onslaught Modes
- Onslaught Deathmatch - Supports team formats like 2v2v2v2, 3v3v3, and up to 8v8v8.
- Onslaught Domination - Hold and contest zones to accumulate points.
- Onslaught Hotzone - Stand in the objective zone to charge a score bar.
- Onslaught Graffiti - Capture portal walls to earn points.
Some Arena modifiers like Big Head Snipers, Speed Bats, or Chaos also appear in Onslaught playlists.
Battle Royale
Battle Royale is currently disabled and not available in matchmaking.
The 60-player Battle Royale mode takes place on Split Worlds, a large map composed of interconnected Onslaught maps. Players drop in, collect gear, and fight to be the last squad alive. Battle Royale uses a rotating safe zone and randomized drop-in flow. This mode is not available in custom lobbies.
The Lab
The Lab is Splitgate: Arena Reloaded's creative mode. Players can design maps, experiment with custom rules, and share creations. Some community-made maps may be featured in official channels if they gain popularity.
Playlists
Playlists organize game modes into curated matchmaking groups. These include core modes, casual variants, competitive ladders, and seasonal or experimental offerings.
